A Look at the Application Process Past, Present, and Future - Spark Hire

A Look at the Application Process Past, Present, and Future - Spark Hire The up-and-comer application process is an ever-changing procedure with regards to choosing the best ability for your business. Have you investigated your application procedure and how it has transformed from an earlier time, present, and future? Utilizations of the Past Ten to twenty years prior, it was genuinely standard for HR or staffing firms to just post an advertisement in the neighborhood paper and trust that the applications will begin streaming in through the mail. While sitting tight for the applications, a spotter would determinedly browse his rolodex, looking for the ideal competitor dependent on past notes. Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) were not as well known at this point and most scouts needed to depend on memory, while flipping through piles of resumes, applications, and notes. While this procedure carried out the responsibility in those days, WOW what a tedious and moderate procedure! Uses of the Present Fortunately, for dedicated selection representatives, Applicant Tracking Systems advanced into the industry. As time advanced, ATS's turned out to be further developed, permitting scouts to electronically post promotions and get applications legitimately through the ATS. Recruiters are likewise ready to carefully look through resumes and recently made notes for specific abilities or watchwords, instead of flipping through hundreds and several paper continue documents and rolodex notes. Likewise, work sheets, for example, Monster and CareerBuilder have become more popular. Not just carry out these responsibility sheets permit selection representatives to post work promotions and get applications by means of email or legitimately into their ATS, however they additionally have broad pursuit capacities, permitting spotters to look through resumes of employment searchers in their database. We should not overlook web based life and the extraordinary a long ways it has made in the selecting business in the last a few years. For the most part, everybody is via web-based networking media and this source has permitted enrollment specialists the chance to take advantage of the aloof competitor pool more than ever. Notwithstanding these changes, one of the most progressive has been video interviews. Still, genuinely new in the business, video meeting has been progressively developing in popularity. Not just would video be able to be utilized for live meetings, yet it is additionally being utilized instead of resumes (video resumes) just as an approach to at first screen competitors all through the application procedure by directing single direction interviews. During a single direction meet, an up-and-comer basically records their reactions to questions you have sent them. This permits you to outwardly see their reactions and replay as much varying. Uses of the Future With the expanding prominence and advances in innovation, uses of things to come will be increasingly virtual with less paper and structures. Video resumes will be seen all the more much of the time, and more organizations will grasp single direction and live video interviewing. Video has and will significantly build an organization's odds of recruiting the best ability by having the option to see and associate with a competitor right off the bat in the meeting process. likewise, video will assist with accelerating our application procedure by sparing beginning screening time and dispensing with up-and-comers at an early stage who don't meet the necessary ranges of abilities. Looking to the future, I accept that talk with applications and meeting will turn out to be much increasingly more extensive all through the application process. Just envision directing a video meet through an internet based life stage, or applicants posting their video resumes on their online networking profiles, just as on work sheets! The application procedure has radically changed throughout the years, with specific procedures coming up short or becoming dull with the changing of times. However, I accept that video is setting down deep roots and that we will be seeing considerably more of it later on for our application procedure. What do you think the fate of uses look like? Please share your contemplations beneath. Picture: Kritiya/BigStock.com

Report Pregnancy, Parental Leave Return to Work - what employers can do to better support parents

Report Pregnancy, Parental Leave Return to Work - what employers can do to better support parents Download My Copy When FlexCareers decided to undertake this research, I mentally prepared myself to have some difficult conversations. Id spent 12-months moderating our Facebook page, and running free career coaching sessions in our support group, so I knew that employers in Australia and New Zealand had a problem. What I didnt adequately prepare for was the number of women that reached out to me via phone and email, and openly shared their raw, and often very confronting, stories of workplace discrimination and bullying. 852 women and 132 men responded our FlexCareers survey, and hundreds more brave women reached out to us to share their experiences, many of whom have never returned to work because of how they were treated. As the #MeToo movement has again shown, many victims of harassment, bullying and discrimination never seek advice or support. Of the women that I spoke to, many only realised that a law had been broken months or years after the event, some were too traumatised to pursue the matter, and others feared that it would would harm their career, or simply did not believe anyone would listen. And its not just women that are affected. I spoke to one man whose employer refused to allow him to take his planned parental leave early, so that he could travel overseas to be with his partner and infant daughter, after their surrogate went into labour prematurely. He felt strongly that had he not been in a same-sex relationship, and it was his wife that had gone into labour, he would have been allowed leave without question. 65% said that their experience has put them off returning to, or remaining in, the workforce. But its not just bullying and discrimination thats an issue. Australia continues to lag behind other developed (and some less developed) countries when it comes to parental leave entitlements, and giving equal opportunities for all parents to be involved with raising their children. Our research shows that only half of employers in Australia and New Zealand offer any support to new parents over and above statutory obligations, and for those that do, many are missing simple steps they could take to improve employee experience, increase the number of parents returning from leave, and most importantly ensuring that this group of experienced, highly employable and talented people are not lost from our workforce forever. Employers need to do more to support their people, their most valuable assets, and ensure that they are able to continue on in their careers. We need to break through the quiet acceptance, the unspoken understanding that by having a child, your career will be put on hold, your earning potential reduced and your value to society limited to your role as chief nappy-changer. FlexCareers hope that by publishing this research together with feedback from some of our interviews, employers in Australia and New Zealand will understand the magnitude of the problem, and take urgent steps to address it.
